'Rebel'

When i first got the word "rebel' i thought of people who go against the norms in society. I instantly thought of the police force and other services like that, that stop 'rebels' in society. However, because this was my first thought i knew that i didn't want to do anything surrounding that as it was too obvious.

From this i was thinking about what makes people rebellious. Rude gestures are seen as rebellious especially if you are of a young age and doing it to your friends or god forbid an elder. This was an idea for some poses that i could get my model to do to show rebellious behaviour.

- Gay Pride
- Feminists
- Mods and Rockers
- Hippies
These could all be seen as groups of rebels as they were against a norm in society or part of a movement that the majority of people didnt agree with.

Rebel groups also came to mind as something a bit different as i dont think many people would choose to think about them as they cause so much devastation in the world. I thought of groups such as:
- ISIS
- Al Qaeda
- Taliban
etc.
The thought of those groups kind of makes you feel uncomfortable so i was trying to think of a topic that i could link with those groups but move away from it. I was looking on the internet at stories about these groups and a tribe known as the 'Nukak' tribe came up as a story. All of their medicine supplies had been taken away by a rebel group and a lot of people were dying and falling ill. The reason this tribe stood out to me was because of the make up they wore on their face to identify with each other. It looked like red warpaint in geometric patterns and i thought that could be a good idea for a make up look.

Looking at photos of rebel groups i also like the idea of incorporating a turban style scarf as a lot of them had these around their heads whilst fighting, i think that could be a good aspect of an image and a way to frame the face and bring out the make up and features a lot more.
